Why Vinyasa Flow Yoga?

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is my absolute favorite style of yoga; thus, why I became RYT certified as a vini yoga instructor through YogaFit's teacher instructor training.

There are all kinds of yoga these days and the "western" influence is definitely evolving yoga giving way to many different experiences through the various styles. Those who crave a "traditional" yoga experience often gravitate towards Iyengar or Ashtanga where there is little to no music in class. It's all good as long as we find whatever style works for us. There is a style for everyone!!!

My classes often incorporate a variety of inspiring and upbeat music with different series of "flows and breathing." Because I am so moved by dancing and music, vinyasa flow incorporates these experiences through body-mind-soul movement!

I look forward to seeing you in class....soon I hope!

Fall Into a a better flow of life... of Yoga

Fall is here!
With wet grass around our feet, 16 of us met in the crisp fall morning air to start our day in a beautiful ryhthm of vinyasa flow yoga at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle. Breath met cool air and "flow" of Ujjai brought heat into our bodies to wake up mind-body-soul. Big cotton swaps of clouds floated along blue sky. The Puget Sound sparkled with silent biddings of a new day. We were the few to start our Sundays off with yoga....barefoot in the park.

Fall is here!
The cooler weather often slows us down. Wearing our sweaters and hats, we tend to consume more food/drink to stay warm. Remember to "fall into a better flow of life" by making a committment to stay true to our practice...to our health...to being vibrant beings. We face the changing of seasons with joy and confidence.

Fall is here. We show up. We move. We breath. We smile. We go out into the world as lights even when everything around us gets darker sooner. We flow with our souls. We. Yogis.

Yoga Day USA benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation today

Yoga Day USA- thousands of yogis all over the country enjoyed practicing yoga! In the spirit of karma yoga, all classes were free (or nearly free). The class I led at Maya Whole Health raised money to benefit the kids struggling with life-threatening conditions and who are waiting for wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Our class raised $260 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Special thanks to:
* Maya Whole Health Studio for allowing us to utilize this beautiful studio space
* Lululemon who donated stylish headbands to those who participated
* Custom Smoothie who provided coupons for healthy smoothies
* All my wonderful students who showed up and gave of their day/time/hearts/money

Every day should be a day to look for opportunities to GIVE BACK!!! Carpe diem!
